Where is Pantabangan?

Pantabangan is a municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region (Region III) of the Philippines. It sits in the foothills of the Sierra Madre at the eastern edge of the province, around 15.81° N · 121.15° E.

The town is best known as the home of the Pantabangan Dam and Reservoir — also called Pantabangan Lake — one of the largest reservoirs in the Philippines. From Metro Manila, the drive is roughly 200 km and around four hours by car, depending on traffic on NLEX and through Cabanatuan.

    Manila → Sta. Rita / SCTEX exit

    Head north on NLEX from Metro Manila and exit at Sta. Rita to enter SCTEX.

    SCTEXPan-Phil Hwy~1 hr

    SCTEX → Pan-Philippine Highway, eastbound

    Continue on SCTEX toward Tarlac, then exit onto the Pan-Philippine (Maharlika) Highway eastbound toward Cabanatuan.

    Through Cabanatuan to Rizal, Nueva Ecija

    Pass through Cabanatuan City and continue north on the Pan-Philippine Highway through to Rizal, Nueva Ecija.

    Rizal → Pantabangan town proper

    At Rizal, take the Pantabangan-Rizal Road east into the foothills. The road climbs through farmland and ends in the Pantabangan town centre.
